Visiting My Son at Fort Benning Georgia
A few months ago, my son Blake left home to join the Army. As difficult as it was for this mother to say goodbye, I have to say, I am so proud of him. Blake was already an amazing young man, but now - there is an extra air of maturity.
Blake was assigned to Delta Company in basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia. He worked really hard and it looks as though all of his effort and commitment has paid off. Blake was one out of four chosen for a Ranger contract! Can I say it one more time?? I am so proud of him!!
Over Memorial Day weekend, we visited Blake at Fort Benning. Fort Benning is close to the Alabama border and its a great area! While there, we stayed at Uchee Creek Army Campground & Marina - an absolutely beautiful place. The 385 acre park has 85 RV sites, 40 cabins, 15 chalets, tent sites, numerous recreation areas, rental facilities and a wealth of outdoor activities.We had such a great time staying there and I highly recommend it! It was the perfect place for my famly to spend time together with Blake.
