The Stella Roberts Recycling Center (5800 Magnolia) will soon change its operating hours as announced today by Pearland Parks and Recreation. The new hours will take effect on Monday, October 18 with recycling services offered Monday through Friday from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday.
Household Hazardous Waste and electronics will now be collected Wednesdays through Saturdays during those same hours. Items accepted at the Recycling Center are as follows:
CURBSIDE (In the City Limits):
Plastic: Clear & colored Number 1, Number 2 plastic bottles (i.e. soft drink and milk bottles, including tops)
Paper: Newspaper, Magazines, Catalogs, Telephone books, Printer & Copy paper, Mail (junk mail), Chipboard (i.e. cereal boxes), NO wax-coated papers
Glass: Colored & Clear Glass Metal Cans: Aluminum Cans, Steel Cans, Steel Lids
RECYCLING CENTER
Plastic: Clear & colored Number 1,Number 2 plastic bottles (i.e. soft drink and milk bottle, including tops), Number 3, Number 4, Number 5, Number 7, *No Plastic Bags
Paper: Newspaper, White office/copy paper, Computer bar paper, Junk mail/magazines, Phone books, Cardboard
Glass: Colored & Clear Glass
Metal Cans: Aluminum Cans, Steel Cans, Steel Lids, Scrap /Large Appliances
Household hazardous materials and electronics accepted:
- Flammables such as oil based paint products and refinishers
- Oxidizers such as pool chemicals
- Corrosives such as acids and certain cleansers
- Batteries (including Alkaline)
- Motor oil, filters and cooking oil
- Latex paint - Antifreeze
- Computers, monitors, printers, printer cartridges
- Televisions
- Cell Phones
Residents are asked to separate recycle items into major categories to help the center focus its efforts and to provide efficient and cost-effective services. For more information on the Stella Roberts Recycling Center, call 281-489-2795.
