Have you been to the Pearland Recreation Center & Natatorium? If not, you're missing out! Its a wonderful resource for Pearland residents!
The facility, located at 4141 Bailey Road, aims to provide additional fitness and aquatic opportunities for both the Pearland community and surrounding cities alike. The 107,000 square foot Recreation Center & Natatorium is a joint partnership with the Pearland Independent School District and the Pearland Economic Development Corporation.
RECREATION CENTER
The facility consists of a gymnasium, weight room, activity room, racquetball courts, locker rooms and an elevated story indoor track. It also houses a multipurpose room, kitchen and a drop-in play area for children.
NATATORIUM
Inside the natatorium is a competition pool (50 meters x 25 yards), two 3-meter diving boards, two 1-meter diving boards and a warm-up pool (25 yards long by 3 lanes wide). The competition pool can be set in seven different configurations for recreational/lap swim, long and short course swim meets, water polo, competition diving and synchronized swimming. The warm-up pool is a shallow pool with a zero-depth entry. Primary uses for the warm-up pool include water exercise classes, swimming lessons and therapeutic recreation programs. The natatorium also serves both the Pearland and Dawson High School swim and water polo teams.
FITNESS
Fitness classes are now available at the Recreation Center & Natatorium. Most fitness classes are free to members. Non-members are eligible to take classes with the purchase of a day pass. They offer seminars and continual weight room services such as body composition assessments and VO2 max tests to help us better assess your overall fitness level. They also have certified personal trainers and offer 30, 45, and 60 minute sessions with discounted packages for seniors and for small group training.
