Free/Inexpensive Summer Family Activities- Just Minutes From Pearland!
Summer has been in session for a few weeks now, and I'm sure that your kiddos (and possibly you) are getting a little restless. I thought it would be nice to give you some ideas for fun, free/inexpensive family activities that are close to home. If you have more ideas to share please let me know - I would love to add them to the list.
• Pearland Library- http://www.bcls.lib.tx.us/branches/pea/pearland.asp. The Pearland Library has a variety of book clubs, story times, movie matinee’s, and family activities appropriate for all ages, and free to the public.
• Centennial Park Water Park- http://www.pearlandparks.com/index.html. Along with great walking trails, basketball, tennis, and baseball playing areas, Centennial Park has several playgrounds and covered sitting areas. There is now a great water park to splash around in and fun with the family.
• Lowes- https://www.lowesbuildandgrow.com. Register Online and take the kids into any Lowe's store and build a FREE wooden project. Each participant also receives a free apron, goggles, a project themed patch, and a certification of merit upon completion of their project.
• Houston Museum District- www.houstonmuseumdistrict.org. Many of the museums in Houston offer free admission every day of the week.
• Children’s Museum- www.cmhouston.org. Every Thursday is FREE FAMILY NIGHT from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Nature Discovery Center- www.naturediscoverycenter.org The centers discovery rooms are open to the public FREE of charge Tuesday through Sunday 12-5:30 p.m. They offer great hands on learning opportunities, walking trails, summer camps, etc.
• Summer Movie Camps- http://www.cinemark.com/summermovieclubhouse. AMC Summer MovieCamp will be offered at 10 a.m. each Tuesday morning this summer at participating theatres, from June 15 through August 10 for just $1.00 per person. Cinemark has Summer Movie Clubhouse every Tuesday & Wednesday at 10 a.m. for $1.00 per person, or you can purchase tickets in advance for all ten shows for just $5.00.
