PEARLAND HOSTING METRO PLANNING WORKSHOP - JULY 19, 2011
The City of Pearland will host a METRO transit planning workshop tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the Westside Event Center, 2150 Countryplace Parkway, 77584. The public is invited.
The goal of the workshop is for METRO to gain a better understanding of public transit needs through the collected input from communities they serve. Information gathered from the workshop will help METRO develop a long-range, comprehensive 'vision' for regional transit.
METRO's Senior VP for Service Design & Development, Kimberly Slaughter, will review issues and request feedback for transit projects extending into the next quarter century. Among the options being considered are improved bus service, bus rapid transit, streetcars, light and commuter rail, and HOV/HOT lanes.
