Brazoria County First-Time Homebuyers Program is a program that provides low and moderate income residents financial assistance in the form of down payment and closing cost assistance. Property must be located in an eligible area of Brazoria County.
Who is eligible for this program?
Eligible applicants are first-time homebuyers who are U. S. citizens and current or prospective residents of Brazoria County. Applicants must not have owned a home during the past three years, except for displaced homemakers and single parents. Past owners of mobile homes and manufactured homes are also eligible for assistance provided they acquire a conventional style single family dwelling. Applicants must have family income of less than 80% of area median income. Funds may be used to pay the downpayment and closing costs.

Yes.
Property Eligibility Requirements
The sales price cannot exceed $ 120,000. Allowable property types: Single family dwelling located in eligible locations in Brazoria County. No condominiums, mobile homes or HUD-code manufactured homes are eligible. Benefit Details Applicants will be required to secure their own permanent mortgage financing. The loan will be secured against the property as a second lien. The maximum down payment and closing cost assistance is $5,000 and the minimum is $1,000.
