I grew up in Pearland, lived here my whole live and I even married my husband who is also from this town. In turn, we have raised all our kids here as well (well, we still have one still left at home). We also have one grandchild who lives her as well.
The funny thing is when Stephen (my hubby) and I were growing up, we both never thought we would stay in Pearland. In our early years of marriage we would talk about moving to another town - maybe a big city. But so many things held us in Pearland - in particular, family, friends and work. Stephen and I have been blessed to have both of our families living in or near the Pearland area. As the years have passed by, a lot of our friends have become family too.
This "small" suburb of Houston, Pearland, has grown so much over the years and is now one of the fastest growing cities in our region. But what I love about Pearland is that it still has the same "small town" feeling, filled with good hearted people that have kept us here all these years. For example, it has always amazed me how many people show up for fundraisers in Pearland. Not only do they show up but, the give lots!! Sometimes they might not even know the person the fundraiser is held for but, here in Pearland, the residents are so supportive of anyone in need in our community.
As I am older, I am so thankful that we never moved from this awesome city. I am so blessed that we call Pearland, Texas home!
